Preparations are quickly coming together for this weekend’s muchanticipated Tough Mudder Georgia event, when thousands of extreme athletes will come to Wilkes County to push themselves to finish what enthusiasts are calling “the most extreme adventure challenge ever developed.”

Discounted advance tickets are still available for the Washington- Wilkes Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner set for Thursday evening, February 16.

Tickets are $20 in advance through Friday, February 10, or $25 at the door. Tickets are available at the chamber office. The dinner will be held in the Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School caf- eteria at 6:30 p.m.

The annual Revolutionary Days celebration returns again this weekend, bringing three days of events and observances marking the 233rd anniversary of the Revolutionary War Battle of Kettle Creek that was fought here between Patriots and Tories on February 14, 1779.
