Pompey’s Chapel Baptist Church will have homecoming Sunday, August 28, 11:30 a.m. Dinner will be served.

“From a Victorian Attic” is the exhibit now on display at the Washington Historical Museum featuring fashions from the mid1800s to the turn of the 20th century. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sundays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. There is a small admission charge.

Transforming Life Ministries will celebrate its 12th anniversary September 4, 3 p.m., at the Third Shiloh Center, Washington. This is also a birthday celebration for Pastor Amethyst D. Wynn. Rev. Charlie Maddox of the Twin Oak Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. Dinner will be served and the public is invited to attend.

Hype Fest 05 will be held Saturday, August 27, at Aonia Pass Motorcross, Thomson Road, Washington.

Christ City of Prayer Church will have its third mother board program Sunday, August 28, 5 p.m., with Rev. Lance Pitts as guest speaker.

“Our Daily Bread,” a collection of recipes by families and friends of Rehoboth Baptist Church, Washington, is available from members of the church and at Poss-Ace Hardware, Hendricks Florist, and the Wilkes County Farm Bureau in Washington; and at Sherrer’s Grocery in Rayle. Cost is $10.

The CSRA Ministerial Alliance meets every second Saturday of the month at 10 a.m., at the Third Shiloh Building, McLendon Drive, Washington. All ministers are invited to attend.

New Saints CME Church will have a ground-breaking service on Sunday, September 11, 11 a.m., with Bishop Othal H. Lakey as the speaker.

A few tickets are left for a barbecue chicken meal to benefit Eydee Turner McClain. Tickets are available at Fievet Pharmacy for $6.00 each. The plates may be picked up at the Young Farmers Building on North Alexander Avenue on August 27, 11:30 a.m.1 p.m. A bake sale will also be available.
