Justin Wilson of Washington, a high school junior, is enrolled in both Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School and the Georgia Academy of Mathematics, Engineering, and S c i e n c e (GAMES) at Middle Georgia College, Cochran.

GAMES is a selective and elite educational program on the campus of Middle Georgia College. Successful completion of this two-year residential program is designed to allow a student to complete a high school diploma and a college associate degree simultaneously. He can then transfer with junior status in most majors to four-year colleges and universities.

A surprise party was given for Justin at the Pizza Hut, Washington, on Thursday, August 11, before he left for Cochran and Middle Georgia College.

Members of his family attending the party included Brenda and Muriel Fanning of Washington; James D. Stevens and Tracy Fiest of Tignall; Mrs. Randy Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Smith of Elberton, and Mrs. Julian F. Wilson of Tignall.

Justin’s high school principal, Andrew Jackson, attended the party, as did former teachers, Anna Nero, Mark Ward, and Geneva Glaze.

Justin is the son of Chet Wilson and Brenda Stevens Fanning of Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Julian F. Wilson of Tignall are his paternal grandparents; and Jerry D. Stevens of Tignall and Mrs. Roger W. Smothers of Rockland, Maine, are his maternal grandparents.
