We had good services during revival at Clifford’s Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Olds was guest speaker; Mrs. Dianne Pullen was pianist; and Carmen Moon sang specials each night. Our heartfelt thanks go to them. Mrs. Ed Coxe and Edna Sherrer of Bennettsville, S.C., came Friday to spend the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer. They came for an early celebration of his birthday which will be Sunday, August 28. Visiting Saturday afternoon were Dianne Butler and her friend Angie of Columbia. That evening Mrs. Coxe and Edna carried the Sherrers to Abbeville where they enjoyed supper at Yoder’s Armish restaurant. Alyssa Stockwell was 12 years old on August 16. She was honored with a cookout by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Drake, Saturday evening. Special guests were her grandparents, Mrs. Dolly Mitchell of Tignall and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Drake. Others present were her brother Trae, several aunts and cousins and friends. Staying overnight with Alyssa were Courtney Broome, Samantha Green of Bowman, and Dustie Robinson of Tignall. Mr. and Mrs. Evans Davis attended the wedding of Mrs. Lois Jones and Coryer Poss of Tignall at Ebenezer Baptist Church Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Terry Bradford visited Mrs. Juanita Bradford Wednesday evening and accompanied her to services at Clifford’s Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Justin Turner of Elberton visited her grandmother, Mrs. Iris Dyson, Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bradford of Thomson and Mr. and Mrs. John Sutherland spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Juanita Bradford. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance spent Saturday with Elizabeth Barber at her home in Amity. Mrs. John Strickland of Jackson visited Mr. and Mrs. Ricky McCarty last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer attended the funeral of Bill Wilder at Resthaven Cemetery Thursday morning. Charlie Branham’s guest Saturday afternoon was Benjamin Hodges. They enjoyed swimming and playing video games.
