Hallie Danielle Gibson Kevin Lamar Cheek Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gibson of St. Marys announce the engagement of their daughter, Hallie Danielle, of Hull, to Kevin Lamar Cheek, son of Mrs. Lamar E. Cheek and the late Mr. Cheek, also of Hull.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Humphries of Roxboro, N.C., and the late Manila Gibson.

She is a l997 graduate of Camden County High School in St. Marys and a 2001 graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens where she earned a Bachelor’s in Social Work. She earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of Georgia in 2002. Miss Gibson is currently seeking her Clinical License in Social Work and is employed with Southern Care Hospice in Athens as a licensed Master Social Worker. She also works with Athens Regional Medical Center as a Patient Affairs Coordinator.

Mr. Cheek is the grandson of the late John Caleb and Mary Beggs Burgess of Washington and the late George W. Cheek of Athens and the late Catherine Youngblood of Hull.

He is a 2000 graduate of Madison County High School in Danielsville and a graduate of Athens Technical College in Athens with an Emergency Medical Technology (EMT-I) degree. He is currently employed with Madison County Emergency Medical Services as an EMT-Intermediate. Mr. Cheek also works with Athens Regional Medical Center in security, is a member of the Hull Volunteer Fire Department, a Madison County First-Responder, and serves on the Child Fatality Review Panel in Madison County.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, November 5, at Hull Baptist Church in Hull.
