Mrs. Frank Story Mrs. Frank Story Mrs. Frank Story was honored on the occasion of her 80th birthday at a celebration at her home on Sunday afternoon, August 21, given by her children, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Oliver of LaGrange and Mr. and Mrs. Olan Miller of Bogart.

Mrs. Story was born Belle Walker on August 25, l925, in Troy, S.C.

For the birthday party Mrs. Story wore a deep fuchsia ensemble complemented by a corsage of pink roses and gypsophila given to her by her neighbor, Jacquelyn Johnson, who calls Mrs. Story her “second mama”.

Upon their arrival, guests were invited to sign a matted picture of the guest of honor.

The house was decorated with various arrangements of Stargazer lilies, roses, Gerber daisies, bells of Ireland, snapdragons, spider chrysanthemums, zinnias, pink carnations, Alstroemeria lilies and button chrysanthemums. One of the lovely bouquets was from a friend, Mrs. Robert E. Callaway. Another had been placed in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church by her family in honor of the occasion.

Guests enjoyed Candy Bar cake, Lemon Meringue cake, cheese petals, homemade vanilla and chocolate ice cream and lemonade.

Mrs. Story was presented a book by her children that contained photographs throughout the years and words of love and appreciation written by family members and friends. She also received many greetings from family members who were unable to attend and a special birthday card from President and Mrs. George Bush.

The party was a culmination of a weekend full of festivities and several dinners amid the planning for the Sunday party.

Joining Mrs. Story and the hosts, her children, were her grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Solomon of Newnan, Tiffany Oliver of Milledgeville, Mr. and Mrs. James Miller of Athens, Elizabeth Miller and Paul Miller of Bogart; also, Mrs. Becky Mayfield, Mrs. Josie Walker and Mrs. Marion Medlock of Greenwood, S.C., Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Capps of Easley of S.C., Mr. and Mrs. Gary Patterson of Liberty, S.C., and Mrs. Robert E. Callaway, Mrs. Jim Garner, Mrs. Carl Adams and Jacquelyn Johnson of Washington.

A special highlight of the day’s festivities was attending the First Baptist Church with her children and grandchildren on Sunday morning.
