Chrissie Pope of Acworth was guest of honor at a baby shower on Sunday afternoon, August 21, given by Ginny Barnett, Claudelle Bonner, and Peggy Tanner of Washington, Brooke Pearson of Milledgeville, and Heather Wheatley of Athens. The shower was held in the ballroom of The Fitzpatrick Hotel.

Mrs. Pope was presented a corsage of baby socks in honor of the occasion.

As guests arrived, they registered in a baby shower guest book and many later added words of advice to the expectant mother.

A beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers in shades of yellow, blue and pink, including carnations, solidago, Stargazer lilies, snapdragons, calacynia, gypsophila, sprengeri and fuji chrysanthemums decorated the refreshment table laden with a delicious assortment of strawberry or peach shortcake, Lifesaver mint pacifiers, sausage balls, cheese balls, and punch.

Other tables around the room were covered in white damask tone on tone cloths and centered with different items for the baby including a bank, children’s books, baskets of nursery items, stuffed baby lamb and picture frame. Tiny baby and nursery confetti was scattered about the tables also.

The centerpieces for the tables were presented as hostess gifts as well as the baby shower guest book and a baby swing.

Joining the guest of honor were the prospective grandmother, Mable Tucker, and the prospective greatgrandmother, Catherine Flocker, of Washington. Out-of-town guests included Akisha Silvey of Macon, Becky Danner and Brenda Danner of Lincolnton, Julie Simmons, Taylor Ollerich, and Cheryl Flocker of Atlanta, Myra Carey Carbonell and Myrtice Carey of Lexington, Melanie McMichael of Greensboro, and Lou Heard and Mattie of Rayle.
