Georgia School Bus Safety Week was September 19-23 and students in the fourth and fifth grades at Washington-Wilkes Elementary School participated in the 2005 School Bus Safety Poster Contest. One winner was chosen from each grade level and the system winners will compete in the statewide contest. This year’s theme is “I See the Driver, The Driver Sees Me.” Andrew Miller (left), fourth grade student in Mrs. Alfreeda Rucker’s social studies class, and Lauren Chafin, fifth grade student in Mrs. Jimmie Drinkard’s social studies class, were chosen as this year’s winners from the elementary school.
