Friends of Library to hear Alderman at meeting Oct. 13
2005-10-13 / News
Friends of the Mary Willis Library will meet Thursday, October 13, at 3 p.m., with Southern potter, Clint Alderman, as the featured guest speaker.
Alderman is from Hartwell and became interested in pottery as a very young man. His works in the Southern alkaline tradition are in great demand. He was apprenticed to the craft by artist Edwin Meaders, son of Cheever Meaders, both recognized by the Smithsonian Institution for the quality of their work.
A few of Alderman’s works will be on display, including a small urn he made in honor of Washington’s Eliza Frances Andrews.
Anyone interested in pottery or in the programs of the Friends of the Library will be welcomed by the group. Refreshments will be served.
