Dr. Jacqueline Fincher of Thomson and Summer Garrison of Augusta presented the program at the Wills Memorial Hospital Tea and Learn Tuesday, October 4, in the Nash Library.

Dr. Fincher spoke about breast cancer, the prevention and treatments. Mrs. Garrison, representing the American Cancer Society, spoke about Reach to Recovery, a one-onone peer support session and Road to Recovery, a program which provides transportation for patients receiving cancer treatments. Persons interested in this program can call 1-800-ACS-2345 to register for this free program.

Pat Niemann, Director of Special Services at WMH, stated that the Wilkes County Health Department provides mammograms in a program open to anyone over the age of 40 who does not have health insurance.
