White presents AARP program on Medicare Part D

Wallace White from GeorgiaCares spoke to a large group of seniors on Monday, October 11, at the Wilkes Country Chapter 5320 AARP meeting at the WashingtonWilkes Senior Citizens Center.

Mr. White provided information on Medicare Part D, Prescription Drug Benefit. Medicare will add a new prescription drug benefit in 2006. Everyone with Medicare must decide if they want to enroll. He explained that Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit will be offered through private companies. The plan will start January 1, 2006. There will be several to choose from in Georgia. How much one pays, what drugs are covered and which pharmacy chosen will vary depending on the chosen plan.

Grady Rogers arranged for the program and introduced the guest speaker. After the presentation of the Medicare information, White received and answered questions from the audience. Edward Crew presided over the meeting and welcomed members and visitors.
