‘Cantabile’ to present concert at Little Theater Nov. 4, 7:30
The ensemble “Cantabile” will perform here November 4. “Cantabile,” a highly acclaimed 10-voice mixed ensemble from Piedmont College in Demorest, will present a concert at the Washington Little Theater Co. Playhouse on North Alexander Avenue on Friday, November 4, at 7:30 p.m.
The ensemble performs early music, jazz, pop arrangements, and avant-garde compositions.
The Washington-Wilkes program by “Cantabile” will feature “That ‘70s Concert,” a program of pop songs and arrangements from the 1970s by musicians such as James Taylor, Carole King, Eric Clapton, and Billy Joel, as well as pieces that have connections to the ‘70s – 1570s, 1670s, 1770s, 1870s, and 1970s – such as romantic partsongs, madrigals, and works with texts written during “the ‘70s.”
Members of “Cantabile” include Jennifer Babel and Rebecca Barnes, sopranos; Bethany Fisher, Sarah Miller, and Laurie Mullinax, altos; Micah Dingler and Wallace Hinson, tenors; and Daniel Burns, Evan Poole, and Kenny Rainey, basses.
