The Annual Optimist Club Friend of Youth Auction and Barbecue will be held Thursday, November 10, at the VFW Post 5899 on Andrew Drive in Washington.

There will be a barbecued pork dinner catered by Frank Bentley with plates available for eat-in or take-out beginning at 5 p.m. The auction will begin at 7:00.

Items to be auctioned are provided by Optimist Club members and local businesses. All proceeds will go to the club’s service programs that benefit the youth of Wilkes County.

Several door prizes will be given away throughout the auction by Optimist Club member and auctioneer Mark Walker. To be eligible for the door prizes, persons must buy a ticket to the barbecue and must be present to win.

Tickets are available for $7 from any Optimist Club member or at The Company Store on East Robert Toombs Avenue.
