Primary School fired-up about reading
2005-10-27 / News
The first Reading is Fundamental (RIF) book night was held at the Washington Wilkes Primary School October 11. RIF is a program that focuses on providing children access to books, encouraging parent involvement, and getting children excited about reading. The students enjoyed hearing stories, having snacks, and seeing the fire truck. They especially enjoyed getting to select a book to take home at the end of the evening. Washington Firefighters Tim Wright, David Wilson, and Greg Scott were special guests for the event. The next RIF night will be on November 15 at 7 p.m. All W-WPS students and parents are invited to join the fun. Shown above enjoying the first book night are Allison Rogers and Jack, Craig Gammon and Curt, and Eric Mahoney.
