A special addition to the Tignall Fall Festival on Saturday, November 5, is the petting zoo with a Vietnamese pot belly pig, a ferret, goat, a rabbit, and a miniature pony.
One of the highlights again this year will be the drawing for a beautiful state bird quilt made by the Tignall Homemakers Club.
There will be a variety of food such as vegetable soup and cornbread, funnel cakes, sausage dogs, hotdogs, and hamburgers, barbecue, and barbecued chickens. There will also be home baked goods, homemade candy and boiled peanuts.
Back again this year will be Tignall’s talented Gwin Ware and his son, Greg Ware, to bring their music. The Lighthouse group will also be back and some other gospel singing groups. Another talented musician, Freddy Brown, is in charge of getting the entertainment together this year.
There are still a few spaces available for persons interested in displaying or selling their crafts. The fee for spaces under the pavilion is $25 and $10 for outside the pavilion unless they are selling food, then the fee is $25.
There will be a few chairs and picnic tables for seating, but some may want to bring lawn chairs to be assured of a seat.
“The success of this festival depends on the efforts of the entire community,” says Carolyn Gammon. “We do appreciate all the donations from many of our businesses in Tignall and Washington.”
