Funeral services for Nancy Jane Harris, 94, were held Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at Cherry Grove Baptist Church with Rev. G.L. Avery officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died Thursday, October 13.

Mrs. Harris was a native of Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late Martha and Frank Turner and was the widow of Lewis Harris. She was a member of the Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Edward Daniel, Washington; a granddaughter whom she reared in her home, Joann Pettus; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
