Funeral services for Jonas C. Willis, 79, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Wilkes County, and Santa Monica, California, were held Monday, October 24, 2005, at Trinity Baptist Church, Santa Monica. Interment was at the National Cemetery in Riverside, California. He died Monday, October 17, in Nevada. Mr. Willis was the son of the late Rev. Walter Willis and Minnie Andrews Willis, and was a licensed mortician.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Lee Willis of Las Vegas; a son, Jonas C. Willis Jr., Santa Monica; two daughters, Jacqueline Willis and Rochelle Wills, both of Santa Monica; a sister, Geraldine Pero of Dalton; a brother, William J. Willis, Dalton; and several grandchildren.
