Corey Amanda McLeod was guest of honor at a bridesmaids’ brunch at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Henderson of Washington on Friday, October 14. Lindsey Goolsby, maid of honor, and her grandmother, Mrs. Brian Henderson, entertained at the seated affair.

For the occasion the bride-elect wore a multi-colored striped strapless camisole over ivory pants. The hostesses presented her a corsage.

As guests arrived, they were invited to the deck decorated with ferns and chrysanthemums to enjoy refreshments. A linen and lace ecru cloth covered a table that held a silver punch bowl of mimosas and a silver tray of homemade cheese straws. Mrs. Addison Burt, Miss Goolsby’s great-grandmother and Mrs. Henderson’s mother, loaned a set of linen cocktail napkins, each monogrammed with a gold “B” to use at the bridal celebration of Miss McLeod’s upcoming marriage to Steven Bridges.

For brunch, the dining room table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with a beautiful fall arrangement.

For the first course, each guest was served a pedestal bowl of colorful mixed fruit lightly drizzled with a creamy fruit dressing. Shrimp and grits and ham, prepared by Mr. Henderson, and bacon-wrapped bean bundles and yeast rolls were served as the main course. For dessert Mr. Henderson prepared one of his specialties, individual key lime tarts topped with fresh whipped cream. Guests also enjoyed iced tea and coffee.

The bride-elect presented her attendants earrings to wear at her wedding. She also gave them gifts of brightly-colored cosmetic totes with matching initial key rings. She conveyed her thanks to her attendants, family and friends for their efforts with her wedding. She expressed a special appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. Henderson and Miss Goolsby for hosting the brunch in her honor and for their longtime friendship.

In addition to the bride-elect and her hostesses, guests included mothers of the bride-elect, Mrs. Greg McLeod of Washington and Mrs. Jan Bray Matson of Homer; Mrs. Danny Love of Athens, mother of the prospective bridegroom; Mrs. Donald McLeod of Grovetown, grandmother of the bride-elect; Christine Lessard and Becky Blystone of Athens, bridal attendants; and Mrs. Joe Bennett of Washington, wedding director.
