Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bailey and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Hackney enjoyed the Biketober Fest at Daytona Beach, Fla., last week. • Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Cook and Mrs. Sandra Standard, Doug and Kyle, enjoyed the weekend in Atlantic Beach, Fla., with the Cooks’ daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Whittingslow and Cathryn and Taylor Currington. The occasion was to celebrate Cathryn’s 16th birthday. • Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Lannae have returned home from a trip to East Berlin, Pa., where they visited her high school friends, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Miller. While in the area they enjoyed touring the Amish Country and returned home by way of the scenic Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Parkway. • C. Carol Cartledge enjoyed a trip to Lexington, Va., and Washington and Lee University where she attended a meeting of the National Society of the Washington Family Descendants. Many places of interest were enjoyed and included a trip to the Natural Bridge and viewed George Washington’s initials carved into the side of the bridge. • Landon Bishop of Rome is spending this week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bishop.
