Mary Jordan, Dolores McAvoy cruise aboard Queen Mary 2
The travelers flew to London and stayed the week at the Millenium Gloucester Hotel in the Kensington Palace area. They toured the palace area and grounds and were fascinated by the beautiful and graceful swans.
Other areas toured and viewed were Stratford-on-Avon and Shakespeare’s home, the Tower of London, National Gallery of Art, Buckingham Palace, the Nottingham district, museums and cathedrals. They attended the theater and saw Andrew Lloyd Weber’s new musical, “The Woman in White”, which they reported as being “wonderful!” They delighted in the festive atmosphere of the Picadilly Circus. Lots of walking, trips on the subways, delicious food and friendly people added to each day. With no trip to London being complete without going to Harrod’s, they spent time there shopping and viewing the elaborate displays.
Their trip home was an elegant and leisurely cruise aboard the Queen Mary 2. Here they took advantage of being treated like queens as they enjoyed grand entertainment, wonderful food and decadent desserts, service, shopping and meeting most interesting people. A highlight of the cruise was celebrating Thanksgiving aboard ship.
The two returned to WashingtonWilkes with lots of pictures and great experiences to share with friends and family.
