Thanks for Christmas tour help

2005-12-15 / Letters

TO THE EDITOR:

I would like to thank each and every one who participated in the preparation and presentation of the 2005 Christmas Tour of Homes.

This is an attempt to note the many who are required to make it happen. Included are homeowners who decorate and open their homes to the public, along with all of the adults and young people who serve and host theses homes; the workers who prepared the food, delivered it, repaired and erected the signs; those who created, decorated, and served at the reception; the newspapers and other media that advertised for us; the Chamber of Commerce who took all the calls and plugged the gaps; the Fitzpatrick Hotel for being our ambassadors as they have since the doors opened; those who manned the tour headquarters, who directed, sold tickets, solved problems, and answered hundreds of questions; merchants who donated time and goods and made our guests welcome; restaurants who donated, served, and invited guests to return; the organization of young people who served everywhere; the museums who opened their doors wide and presented special programs for all our guests; the City for the Pope Center and those who made it appear like a grand Christmas ballroom; and the Historic Foundation who backed me at every turn.

To these and many more, I thank you for your support during the last two years. I now will pass the thrill of accomplishment to the next group. Good luck.

LOUISE MAYNARD
