Michelle Anderson selected for honor societies at GSU
MICHELLE ANDERSON Michelle Anderson of Tignall, a student at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, has received two outstanding honors at the university.
Michelle has been named for membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society and was honored during an induction ceremony at the university.
“It is only fitting that a top academic achiever like Michelle be recognized by Golden Key,” said Alexander D. Perwich II, Golden Key’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our members are inspired and motivated not only to achieve exceptional academic accomplishments, but also to make a positive impact on our world through the Society’s commitment to service.”
Golden Key International Honour Society is the premier college/university honor society in the world, with more than 1.5 million members in 334 chapters in the United States, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, South Africa, and New Zealand.
The other honor which Michelle has received is selection for membership in the Georgia Southern University chapter of Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society.
Delta Epsilon Iota was established in order to recognize and encourage academic excellence in all fields of study. The organization rewards outstanding students through financial scholarships, provides leadership opportunities to its members, and promotes the principles of Dedication, Enthusiasm, and Initiative among students participating in higher education throughout the United States.
Students qualify for membership on the basis of academic achievement. Prospective members must have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours at an accredited college or university, while maintaining a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or a scholastic ranking within the top 15 percent of their class.
Michelle is the daughter of Wanda and Eddie Anderson of Tignall, and expects to receive her degree in Early Childhood Education in December 2006.
