Saralyn Stewart sworn in to practice law on Nov. 4

Saralyn Stewart of Crawfordville was sworn in to practice law in the state of Georgia on Friday, November 4, 2005, at the Taliaferro County courthouse. A small group of family and close friends attended the ceremony presided over by Judge Roger Dunaway and Judge Harold Hinesley, both of the Toombs Judicial Circuit. Dunaway had been a personal friend of Saralyn’s maternal grandfather, and he spoke of their relationship and how fitting it was that he preside on this occasion.

Stewart is the daughter of Chuck and Paula Stewart of Crawfordville and a 1998 honor graduate of Nathanael Greene Academy. She attended Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, where she was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the Lamdpa Pi Eta National Honor Society, and the Wesleyan Honor’s Program. She was presented the Senior Communication Award by the faculty, and received the Emma G. Boyce Music Scholarship. Stewart sang with the concert choir and was also selected to be a member of the Wesleyannes. She graduated magna cum laude in the spring of 2002, majoring in Communication and minoring in Music.

Stewart attended the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, where she received her Juris Doctor degree in May of 2005. While at Mercer, she participated in the Hugh Lawson Moot Court Competition and was a member of the student division of the American Bar Association.

In September of 2005, Stewart joined the Law Office of Regina I. Edwards in Atlanta as an associate attorney. She will practice Family and Elder Law for the firm.
