James E. Summers
Graveside services for James E. Summers, 75, of Jennings Street, Crawfordville, were held Tuesday, December 13, 2005, in the Margaret’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Crawfordville, with Rev. Randall Hardy officiating. He died Sunday, December 11, in Wills Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Summers was a native of Gwinnett County but had lived in Crawfordville most of his life. He was the son of the late Sam and Callie Simpson Summers and the widower of Betty Jane Nunn Summers. He served in the United States Navy in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a truck driver and horse trainer.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl W. Young of Washington and Tara Summers, Crawfordville; a son, James Eric Summers of Crawfordville; a sister, Meomia Merritt of Clarkesville; and two grandchildren, Christopher Wolfe of Philomath and Amanda Wolfe of Washington.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Margaret’s Grove Cemetery Fund.
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
