Funeral services for Odessia Derricot McGee were held Saturday, December 10, 2005, at Pompey’s Chapel Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. W.R. Ferrell officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died December 5 at St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta.

Mrs. McGee was a native of Wilkes County and lived most of her life in Richmond County. She received her early education in both Wilkes and Richmond counties, and was a member of Pompey’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was the widow of Hills McGee.

Survivors include her children, Hugh D. Waltower, Gloria J. McGee, Margaret Jones, Linda Gomillion, Hills McGee Jr., Michael J. McGee, Leon E. McGee, Joseph W. McGee, and Valeria D. McGee; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
