The Washington-Wilkes Garden Club celebrated the Christmas season at its annual holiday party Thursday, December 8, at the home of Mark and Emilie Waters on East Robert Toombs Avenue.

Mabel Johnson, president, opened the fellowship by reading the “Joy of Christmas.” She welcomed members and wished all a Merry Christmas.

Members gathered around the festively decorated dining tables for delicious hot cider and covered dish party foods while listening to a DVD of Christmas songs by Peyson Moss, pianist.

The house was beautifully decorated both inside and out for the season. Wreaths and greenery adorned the outside. Inside numerous decorated Christmas trees, poinsettias, candles, garlands and seasonal greenery added a festive air.

Members present were Celeste Adams, Dr. Sophia Bamford, Tanya Boyd Jones, Faye Durham, Pat Mack, Mary Webster, Mae Butler and Mabel Johnson.
