Tonight’s the “Night of Lights,” and Marilyn Pasco says that homeowners who’d like to take part in the Iris Garden Club’s annual Christmas decorating contest need to call her by this afternoon to enter.

At 6 p.m. Thursday, judging will begin, and only homes whose owners have registered with Mrs. Pasco at 678-7630 will be judged. “We just can’t drive all the streets in town looking at all the houses, so call me and register your home.”

This year there will be no commercial category, she said, only categories for residential one-story and two-story homes. Prizes will be $25 for first, $15 for second place, and $10 for third in each category.

Entering homeowners are asked to have their house number illuminated to help the judges find their location.

An as always, the garden club encourages all homeowners to light up the night with their Christmas lights.
