Every child needs a little something to make Christmas special, and Santa had something special for each one of these kids. They were among 200 local children who paid a Christmas time visit to Santa at the Washington Police Department Tuesday morning. Every child left with a specially chosen gift, ranging from bicycles to dolls and CD players. “Local citizens and merchants were so generous this year,” said Lt. Theodosia Glenn. The Toys for Tots program was a success, she said, thanks to WVLX 105.1fm, Farmers and Merchants Bank of Washington, Phillips Chevrolet of Elberton, and Carlisle Coatings of Elberton. “They really made it possible for us this year.”
