Celebrate His birthday at His house; local churches set weekend services

Several churches in Wilkes County will be having special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services. The ones that have been submitted to The News-Reporter are as follows. The public is invited to all services.

CHRISTMAS EVE

December 24

First United Methodist Church, Candlelight service, 6 p.m.

First Baptist Church, Candlelight Observance of The Lord’s Supper with Christmas piano and organ music, 6 p.m.

Church of the Mediator Carol Singing, 7 p.m., followed by the Festival Eucharist of the Holy Nativity, 7:30 p.m.

Washington Presbyterian Church, Candlelight service, 7:30 p.m.

CHRISTMAS DAY

December 25

Clifford Grove Baptist Church, Rayle, worship service, 8 a.m.

First Baptist Church worship service, 11 a.m.

First United Methodist Church worship service, 11:15 a.m.

Church of the Mediator, Episcopal Holy Eucharist, 11:15 a.m., no music, no sermon.

Pompey’s Chapel worship service, 11:30 a.m.

Lyonsville Baptist Church, “The True Meaning of Christmas,” 11:45 a.m.

Mt. Carmel Baptist Church will have pastoral services Christmas Day beginning at 9 a.m. with Sunday School, and church services beginning at 10:30. There will be no sunrise service.

Christ City of Prayer Church will celebrate “The Birth of Christ” with a Christmas program at 11 a.m., followed by the morning worship service.

Ebenezer Baptist Church at Aonia will have a special Christmas service on Christmas Day at 10:30 a.m.

Beaverdam Baptist Church, Rayle, will a Christmas Day service at 11 a.m.

Sardis Baptist Church, Rayle, will have a Christmas Day Meditation Service at 10 a.m.

Clifford’s Grove Baptist Church, Lundberg, will have a Christmas worship service at 10 a.m.

New Ford Baptist Church, Danburg, will have a Christmas Day Worship Service at 10 a.m. There will be no Sunday School.
