AARP Christmas party held December 12 at Senior Center
Eighteen members and four visitors met at the Wilkes Senior Center Monday, December 12, for the annual AARP Christmas party.
Ruth Rogers called the meeting to order. An announcement was made of the January 6 regional meeting to be held a First Baptist Church in Augusta. It was also noted that the Chapter will sponsor an AARP Driver Safety Course in February. Further information on this event will be given in the near future.
After the business meeting members enjoyed a time of holiday fellowship. Each contributed favorite party foods providing a bountiful refreshment table that was covered with a white cloth with a Christmas poinsettia border. Centering the table was a basket holding two large red poinsettias. Christmas poinsettia napkins, red plates and cups added to the Christmas theme.
The white elephant gift exchange was enjoyed and members expressed their Christmas greeting as they departed.
