Mr. and Mrs. Steve Blackmon, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wheeler, Mrs. Robert Leavell, Mrs. Paul Barnett and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Cheney were among those from Washington in Athens last Thursday evening to attend the Old English Madrigal Dinner at the Georgian. The all Celtic program and Christmas celebration was presented by the Athens Chamber Singers under the direction of Kevin Kelly.

Mr. and Mrs. Grady Rogers joined a large group of Regions Bank Heritage Club members for its annual Christmas luncheon at White Columns Restaurant in Thomson last Thursday. Rev. Bruce Fields, pastor of seniors at First Baptist Church in Gainesville, entertained the group with a variety of Christmas songs and carols along with his wit and humor.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pope Jr. were in Watkinsville last Sunday evening to hear “The Heart of Christmas” presented by the Senior Choir and Children’s Choir of Mars Hill Baptist Church. Their daughter and granddaughter, Mrs. John Gentry Jr. and Anna were a part of the program. On Tuesday evening they were in Thomson with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pope III to see grandson, Wesley Pope, present a Christmas program with the children at the First United Methodist Church PreSchool.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Rogers, Olivia and Blake, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Grady Rogers at the Washington Jockey Club on Tuesday evening.

Rev. and Mrs. Kevin Madden, Noah, Michael and Taylor, of West Bank, British Columbia, Canada, joined Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Madden and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Souther, Leslie and Will, for a Christmas celebration Sunday.
