Frances Wheelis Women on Mission and families enjoy supper, caroling
The Frances Wheelis Women on Mission of the First Baptist Church, their families and guests celebrated Christmas with an evening of caroling and supper Monday, December 12..
In keeping with the annual tradition which began more that 30 years ago, the group boarded the church bus and traveled to homes of shutins to share Christmas through a visit and music.
All returned to the Mary Callaway Burton Fellowship where hot vegetable soup, cornbread, sandwiches and dessert were waiting. Julia and Dennis Palmer were in charge of the soup with others bringing sandwiches and desserts.
The evening also provided an opportunity for the group to complete their plans for supplying Christmas for someone special in the community.
Participating in the evening were Bill and Teresa Bishop, Edward Pope Jr., Tom and Melanie Wells, Wayne and Nancy Madden and grandchildren, Will and Leslie Souther, David and Gail Hunter, Dennis and Julia Palmer, Gene and Lynne Land and Rosemary Hopkins.
