Wrestlers win again Dec. 13, take third in Viking tourney, will finally come home Jan. 3
The mighty Tiger wrestling team is continuing its strong season and piled up wins over Stephens County and Hart County last week just before taking a third place finish in the Viking Invitational tournament held at Soperton on December 16-17.
Of 16 total wins against Stephens and Hart, all but five were by pin, one was by forfeit, and the rest were by decidedly impressive, one-sided scores.
At Soperton, among 16 teams, the Tigers had two individual first place finishes, two second place finishes, a third, and two fourths. In his last hurrah before surgery and the forfeiture of the rest of his season, Casey Nickels went 7-0 in the tournament as did Mathew Young in the 160 weight class.
