John Bounds, 12-year-old son of Cindy and Lincoln Bounds, bagged his first deer in the late afternoon of December 16 in the southern part of Wilkes County. The buck had nine points and weighed approximately 195 lbs. John made the successful shot after having observed the deer for about three years and waiting for the buck to mature.
