Kiwanis, Pizza Hut join in fund-raising scholarship effort

Each year the Kiwanis Club of Washington awards two $1,000 academic scholarships to deserving students that are residents of Washington Wilkes. This year for the first time, the club, working with the management of Pizza Hut of Washington, is planning a fund-raiser to support its academic scholarship fund.

The effort began with an overflow crowd of suporters on Tuesday, October 25, from 5:30-8:30 p.m., and will continue for the next four Tuesdays. During those special times, Pizza Hut will donate a percentage of each bill to the Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund. Tuesday is pizza buffet night at Pizza Hut. Each patron must submit a fund-raiser voucher with their respective bill for the donation to be made. Kiwanis Fund-raiser Vouchers will be available at the door of Pizza Hut or from any Kiwanian.

Members encourage all those that like pizza (or the delicious salad bar), to join them at Pizza Hut this coming Tuesday and help support their academic scholarship fundraising efforts – bring family, friends, and neighbors, Children under the age of ten eat free with a paid adult on buffet night.
