Demetrious McDougle, 12, of Washington, escaped with minor injuries when he was hit by a car as he crossed East Robert Toombs Avenue on his bicycle in front of Ace Hardware. Although the boy did not complain of any injuries, EMS personnel and first responders, including director Blake Thompson (holding the boy’s head) took precautionary measures and transported McDougle to Wills Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries. The driver of the car, Estella Thomas of Washington, was judged not to be at fault, Washington Police said.
