Funeral services for William Anthony Stewart Jr., 41, were held Sunday, January 1, 2006, at the Greater Level Hill Baptist Church, Crawfordville, with Rev. Samuel L. Duggan officiating. He died December 20, 2005.

Mr. Stewart was born in Brooklyn, New York, and was the son of William Anthony and Grace Stephens Stewart. He received his education in the New York Public School System and was a member of the Wayside Baptist Church in Brooklyn. He was a talented musician and was a member of several singing groups for many years. He was a recording artist and at the time of his death he was the co-owner of a production corporation and was continuing to pursue a career in music.

Survivors include his parents, William and Grace Stewart; a brother, Kelvin of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his grandmother, Bessie McLendon of Washington; and his godmother, Margaret Wiggins of Auburn, N.Y.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
