Rhonda Denise Ingram marries Lance Cpl. Richard Eugene Shedd
Lance Corporal and Mrs. Richard Eugene Shedd Rhonda Denise Ingram of Washington and Lance Corporal Richard Eugene Shedd of Camp Lejeune, N.C., were united in marriage in a lovely double-ring ceremony Wednesday, December 28, at three o’clock in the afternoon at Alpine Wedding Chapel in Helen. Austin Echols of Helen officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Ingram of Washington.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shedd of Huntsville, Ala.
Vows were spoken before a wedding arch adorned with magnolia blossoms and greenery with trailing ivy down the sides. Flanking the arch were tall ficus trees and nine branch candelabra with white magnolias. Ferns and statues of lovebirds were also to each side of the altar.
“Only God Could Love You More” was played as the couple lighted the unity candle.
Mr. Shedd was his son’s best man. Usher-groomsmen were Noah Shedd of Mildenhall, England, brother of the bridegroom, and John Ro of Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Amanda Stroika of Washington served as maid of honor. She wore an apple red floor-length halter neck gown accented with a front jewel clasp and carried a bouquet of delicate white flowing lilies.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Shedd of Huntsville, Ala., sister of the bridegroom, Whitney James of Washington, and Erin Ingram of Oakwood, cousin of the bride.
Their gowns matched those of the honor attendant and they carried white roses.
Aislynn Rylie Shedd of Mildenhall, England, niece of the bridegroom, served as flower girl. She wore a white dress adorned with flowers, lace and a white satin bow and a headpiece with touches of white flowers, lace and a satin bow.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was elegant in a full-length white gown. The strapless bodice featured beaded embroidery. Both the upper bodice and dropped waist were accented with a band also dotted with beaded embroidery. The back bodice closed in an elegant lacing design with a finishing bow. The full skirt featured delicate appliqués which also enhanced the back of the gown and the cathedral train.
Her double rolled hem veil fell from a matching headpiece.
She carried a nosegay of red and white roses accented with gypsophila and ivy.
For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Ingram chose a two-piece aqua dress and jacket accented with a shimmering design.
Mrs. Shedd, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a mauve dress with mauve and light pink sheer beaded sleeves. Reception
Following the ceremony the couple was honored at a reception at the Alpine Wedding Chapel Garden Room.
Amanda Stroika tended the keepsake guest book.
A garden gazebo was enhanced with ivy and garden roses in white and pale pink. Holiday touches of poinsettias added as was lush greenery.
Tables were covered in white lace and linen. The bride’s table held the two-tiered wedding cake. The base square tier was atop a filigree stand banked with soft pink roses. The round top tier held a glass cross centered with double wedding rings. Keepsake champagne glasses were placed near the cake.
The bridegroom’s chocolate cake was topped with fresh strawberries and was featured on a round table.
Other party foods were served.
The couple danced their first dance to “Unforgettable”.
Following a wedding trip in Helen, LCpl and Mrs. Shedd are
making their home at Jacksonville, N.C. Personal Mention
