Thomas Gresham guest speaker at Kettle Creek DAR meeting
Thomas Gresham was welcomed to the Kettle Creek Chapter DAR by Mrs. Eugene Pollock, regent. Thomas Gresham of Aiken, S.C., presented the program to members of the Kettle Creek Chapter DAR Monday, January 16, at the Washington Woman’s Club.
Miss Betty Slaton introduced Mr. Gresham who presented a program entitled, “Prehistoric Rock Mounds, Piles and Effigies in Georgia”. Mr. Gresham was born and reared in Aiken, S.C., where he collected arrowheads with his parents from a very early age. He pursued his hobby and received a Master in Anthropology from the University of Georgia.
Mrs. Charles Jordan was program chairman.
Mrs. Eugene Pollock regent, presided and hostesses were Mrs. Mary Ann Bentley, chairman; Mrs. Robert W. Culpepper, Mrs. Michael Eskew, Mrs. Eugene Pollock, Mrs. James A. Reynolds and Mrs. John H. Singleton.
A business meeting followed the program.
Mrs. Thad Broome and Mrs. Thomas Gresham attended as guests.
