At the meeting of the Memory Lane Cruisers on Tuesday, January 10, the club presented a total of $2500 to five Washington-Wilkes organizations.

The first meeting of the new year was held at the Mary Willis Library. At the November meeting of the club, members voted to donate the money and selected the organizations to receive the donations. Representatives of these organizations were invited to attend the January meeting.

The $2500 is a direct result of the two Cruise-Ins On the Square which the club holds in May and September. Kerry McAvoy, Memory Lane Cruisers President, presented the donations to the recipients. Blake Thompson received the donation on behalf of the Wilkes County First Responders. Judy Anderson accepted on behalf of the Humane Shelter; and Bobbi Ann Griffin represented the Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Judy Denard received the contribution to the Mary Willis Library. The club had already made a $500 contribution to the Nancy C. Long Walk of Hope in November.

Members of Memory Lane Cruisers has expressed appreciation to local merchants and others for their continued support of the club.
