Vendors are needed now for the two-Saturday celebration of Black History month set for February.

The Black Families Festival of Love 2006 will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4, and Saturday, February 18, at the Reese J. Booker Park on Whitehall Street, said organizer Felisha Echols.

“We plan to celebrate Black History with a lot of fun, food, and entertainment from local and surrounding counties. We plan to have kids’ games, food, arts and crafts, and fellowship. All citizens of the area and surrounding areas are encouraged to bring their blankets and chairs, and camp out for the day to celebrate Black history.”

Crafts, novelty, and food vendors need to apply by 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 31. Vendors will get a 10 by10-foot space, but the booth rental is free.

Applications are available from the Chamber of Commerce office on The Square.
