Tells Kiwanians about GMA

Becky Taylor, manager of Research and Outreach Services for the Georgia Municipal Association (left) discussed the GMA, which represents 531 cities in Georgia, and explained that the organization’s mission is “to anticipate and influence the forces shaping Georgia’s communities and to provide the leadership, tools, and services that assist cities in becoming more innovative, effective, and responsive.” She was speaking at the regular meeting of the Washington Kiwanis Club on January 24 where she highlighted two specific topics of GMA interest in her presentation: “Eminent Domain” and “Inverse Condemnation.” She explained the meaning of each and provided information about the current situation in Georgia regarding both. Ross Maynard (right) was program chairman for the day.
