Citizens generous to Food Pantry
TO THE EDITOR:
The compassionate and concerned citizens of Wilkes County have given generously to the Washington Food Pantry this past year.
The Food Pantry continues to provide supplies to families in need of food, and this outreach is made possible by individuals and groups willing to serve others by giving time, financial assistance, and food.
The 2005 contributors included the following organizations:
Curves of Washington; First United Methodist Church and PreKindergarten; First United Methodist Church Willing Workers Sunday School Class; Hexcel; Independence United Methodist Church; Jackson Chapel AME; Smyrna United Methodist Church; Smyrna United Methodist Women Night Circle; Terry’s IGA; Tignall Baptist Church; Washington-Wilkes Primary School; Washington-Wilkes Elementary School; WashingtonWilkes Middle School; and Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School.
Thank you for your generous support in 2005. We look forward to serving our community again this year.
According to Isaiah 58:10, “And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.”
May God richly bless all of you this year.
