WMH learning programs to feature information on diabetes, hospice
Wills Memorial Hospital continues to strive to educate the public with a series of upcoming programs designed to give insight in many areas of health concerns.
WMH will sponsor a Tea and Learn on January 31 at 2:30 p.m. in the hospital café as it presents Anne Myers, RN, MSN, Beth Young, Phd, RD, and Lisa Eskew, LPN, who will speak on diabetes.
Mrs. Myers will lead the discussion by presenting a general overview of this disease. Other ideas discussed will be ways to control diabetes with diet, exercise and medications as well as how to read food labels.
At a Lunch and Learn at 12 o’clock noon in the Nash Library on February 3, Dr. Mahesh Duggal of Med Link, Washington, will present a program on Palliative Medicine (Hospice). He will tell about the beginning of Hospice and the criteria for being admitted to the program.
Kay Mercer, Community Representative of United Hospice in Augusta, will present a program concerning her firm on February 9 at 2:30 p.m. in the café, also in the tea and learn setting.
Sissy Murray and her staff will provide refreshments for all of the programs, giving special attention that the refreshments for January 31 will be suitable for the diabetic.
