January is flying by and February will soon be here. It seems to me that we have had a very mild winter, so far. I am expecting some real winter weather before spring. Happy birthday to Trudy Ingram, Tonya Ingram Ryll and Lisa Ingram Davenport who are sisters. Also, happy birthday to Beth Wallace, Brad Tucker, and Chase Shelton. We had a great Sunday at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The choir did a wonderful job and the teaching and preaching were enjoyed. Rev. Huyck’s message was “The Greatest Man to Ever Live.” Don’t forget, January 29 is the fifth Sunday night singing. Come, bring a friend, and enjoy. Thanks to Jack and Angie Strother for the pretty flowers they placed in the church Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Sifre, Joseph and Mathew were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Flood Monday evening. The Sifre family will be moving to Florida soon and we are so sorry to lose them. They all have been a vital part of Ebenezer and we will miss them greatly. God bless them is our prayer and our loss is Florida’s gain. We all send our love and best wishes with them as they make this important move to serve the Lord in another capacity. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Flood visited Mrs. Dot Shank and other neighbors in the community last week. We welcome them to Ebenezer Baptist Church and to our community. They are originally from New York and Florida. Seth Canterbury spent Friday night with Roy Chesnut. Michael Van Hart joined the boys on Saturday and spent the day. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith visited Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Gay Tuesday. Kathy Fender and Genie Shelton are visiting Lois and Lynn for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll, Connor and Cadley, were supper guests of Mrs. Lucille Ingram and Trudy Saturday evening. We are sorry to year of Mrs. Billy Dunnaway’s illness. Miss Ann was a nurse at Wills Memorial Hospital for a long time. We send our prayers out for this family. Linda Standard and Peyton visited Mrs. Sara Huff last week. Alex Dunaway also visited. James Smith is improving at University Hospital. He suffered a heart attack last Sunday and has been in ICU, but as of this writing he is in a room out on the floor now, doing better. Linda requests prayers for him, so he may come home real soon. The family requests that we limit the visits and phone calls. Congratulations to Rhonda Ingram and Richard Shedd upon their recent marriage. Rhonda is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Ingram of Big Cedar Road. Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway were supper guests of Beverly Teasley in Lincoln County Thursday evening. Alex visited Linda Standard and Peyton and Sara Huff during the week. He also visited Ann Dunnaway and family and Mrs. Louise Burt. We are sorry to hear that Billy Glenn has been very ill. He is now at home, but needs our prayers. Billy’s brother, John Glenn, and Mrs. Glenn and Chrissy from Riverview, Fla., visited this past weekend. Richard and Brenda Phillips are feeling better from their bouts with pneumonia and shingles. We hope they will continue to get stronger. Sherry Newsome, Shane Barnett, and Shannon Thomason attended the funeral of Linda Lester Blanchard of Athens in Crawford Saturday. Mrs. Blanchard was Mrs. Minan Maxwell’s sister-in-law. I visited my parents in Lincoln County Sunday afternoon. My brother, Garnett Wallace, stopped in and Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. Goff also visited. Friends of James Casey, who is Jean Newsome Casey’s husband, will be interested in knowing that he is home after being hospitalized from suffering a heart attack. They live in Cedartown. Have you ever heard of so much serious illness? We have our share in Wilkes County. Our prayer concerns include Betty and G.T. Hall, Lewis Hall, James Smith, James Casey, Richard and Brenda Phillips, Henry and Blanche Wallace, Lois Holliday, Billy Dawson, Billy Glenn, Dan and Mildred McAvoy, George Hale, Dot Shank, Jack Newsome, Ethel Harris, Lois South, Tommie Lou Heard, Bruce Dragon, Ann and Fred Corbett, Tom Hardy, George and Ann Wideman, Joe Woodruff, Claire Nelson, Tammy Gunter, Jenelle Newsome, Charlie Coker, Lucille Turpin, Ann Dunnaway, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hardy, Bill Mobley, Bobby Armour, Jasper Johnson, Stephanie Chapman, Suzette Kopecky, Diane Bailey, Sue Lance, Edyee McClain, Willard Lance, Mitch Whitener, Frank Thomas, Jasper Johnson, Juanita Bradford, Wade Palmer, Marvin Palmer, Okee Palmer, Linda Reid, Pam Gunter, Evans Davis, Reba Thornton, J.W.
