Funeral services for Matilda Maxey Hull, 101, were held Thursday, January 12, 2006, at New Springhill Baptist Church, Philomath, with Rev. R.A. Hunter officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died January 5.

Mrs. Hull was a native of Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late Dock and Josephine Maxey. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church where she had served as president of the Mother Board for several years. She was the widow of Clemon Hull. Survivors include seven children and their spouses, Dock and Dorothy Hull of Cleveland, Ohio, Alice and K.C. Mitchell, Lexington, Milton and Mary Ann Hull, Atlanta, Doris Turner, Belle Glade, Fla., Pauline Hull, Beverly and Clemon Hull Jr. of Rayle, and Margarine and Chester Banks, Cincinnati, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons and deacons served as pallbearers.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
