Ruby Hunt Hood

Funeral services for Ruby Hunt Hood, 95, formerly of Cleveland, were held Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at Barrett Funeral Home in Cleveland. Burial was at the Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Sunday, January 22, at Wilkes Health Care Center, Washington.

Mrs. Hood was a native of White County and was the daughter of the late Gold Hunt and Alice Hulsey Hunt. She was the widow of Claude G. Hood and was a member of the Mt. View Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Joe Hood, and his wife Betty of Gainesville; a daughter, Doris H. Smith and her husband George of Washington; four grandchildren, Claudia Leslie Smith, Robert Daniel Smith, Keith Hood, and Susan H. Fortner; and one great-grandchild, Kimberly Fortner.

Hopkins Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
