A Celebration of Life Service will be held for David Collum Horne, 54, Saturday, January 28, 2006, at 11 a.m., at the Smyrna United Methodist Church, Washington, with Rev. Kathy Lamon officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Greenville County, S.C. He died January 18.

Mr. Horne was the son of Joan Collum Horne and was reared by his maternal grandparents, Tom and Mozelle Collum, in Greenwood, S.C. After graduating from Piedmont Tech and Lander University, he moved to Greenville, S.C., and had a career in textile management, then as an All-State insurance agent. He was an avid golfer and animal lover. He and his wife, Lynn Pruitt Horne of Greenwood, S.C., enjoyed a second home in WashingtonWilkes on the farm of her sister, Reba Brown and her husband, Lewis Brown.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two children, Melissa Horne Broad of Simpsonville, S.C., and Phillip Collum Horne of Sullivan’s Island, S.C.; and two granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Alyssa Broad.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Humane Shelter.
