Funeral services for Ida Bell Porter Smith, 80, of Dayton, Ohio, were held Friday, December 23, 2005, at Berea Missionary Church, Dayton, Ohio, with Rev. Ted Milbry officiating. Burial was in Greencastle Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. She died December 19.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late Rafe and Lula Norman Porter. She received her education in the Wilkes and Elbert County schools.

Survivors include six children, Joseph W. Smith, Darryl Smith, and Jeffery Smith, all of Dayton, Ohio, Brenda Black and Rodney Smith, Cleveland, Ohio, and Barry Smith, Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Margaret (Mrs. G.L.) Avery of WashingtonWilkes; a brother, Jimmy Martin, Washington-Wilkes; 36 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Friends of the family served as pallbearers.
