Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hocutt of Indian Trail, N.C., announce the birth of their daughter, Madeline Grace, on Monday, January 23, at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. Gracie, as she will be called, weighed 8 lbs. 3 ozs.

Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward Hassett III of Charlotte, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Emory Hamilton Jr. of Greenville, S.C.

Paternal grandparents are Kermit Hocutt and the late Cynthia Fort Hocutt of Washington.The paternal great-great-aunt and adopted greatgreat grandmother is Mrs. Mabel Fouche of Washington.

Mrs. Hocutt is the former Blake Hassett of Greenville, S.C.
